3 Ways to Boost Your Productivity
As life continues to slow down amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to try to get yourself into some kind of routine as soon as possible. It’s still important to rise early and get your center for the day before you go about taking care of what’s on the agenda.
Family Chiropractic and Natural Healing Center goes over a few ways to boost your productivity during your time at home.
Cut Out Distractions
Obviously, since you’re at home, you’re going to have more than a few distractions. There are a few ways you can address this. First, allow yourself to engage in the distraction for 20 minutes, then get back to work. Otherwise, you can download applications that will help you stay off your favorite distraction sites, which will help you cut down on wasted time.
Silence Your Phone
Now that everyone’s at home, you might find your phone ringing more often than normal. When it’s time to get things done, it’s a good idea to put your phone on airplane mode until you get done what you need to do.
Explore Chiropractic Treatment
Once the dust on the issue settles, chiropractic treatment is a great way to boost your immune system and recalibrate the mind/body connection, which will help you experience more productivity on a daily basis. Quarantine Dos and Don’ts
As we settle into our second moving into the third week of quarantine, we’re starting to get a better idea of what we’re in for. Many of our largest cities in the country are extending their lockdown regulations until at least 4/19/2020, which means we all have to hunker down and continue to do our part.
What it also means is that, due to stricter regulations being set forth, this means that many people aren’t observing proper quarantine etiquette, which thwarts the efforts of everyone else. Below, Family Chiropractic and Natural Healing Center goes over how to practice quarantine the right way.
Do: Maintain Six Feet of Distance at All Times
When you’re out on essential errands, it’s important to stay six feet away from other human beings AT ALL TIMES. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Don’t: Venture Out… Unless It’s for Essential Functions
We know staying indoors for extended periods of time can be irritating, but that’s the point of what we’re doing: we’re sacrificing our own self-interests for the greater good. If you find yourself venturing outside every 20 minutes, even if it’s only for a few moments, you’re missing the point and failing to do your part. Stay indoors, please. Resist the urge to go outside.
Do: Maintain Cleanliness Throughout the Day
Wash your hands when you come into contact with common surfaces and make sure to keep your home clean and sanitized, this way you can avoid germs coming into your home as well as you spreading them outward.
Don’t: Have People Over
It’s important to isolate and quarantine during this time, which does not mean having friends over. Please, for the sake of everyone, shelter in place and avoid having ANY sort of gatherings until this time of quarantine is up.

Maintaining Social Distance Outdoors
Even in the midst of strict social distancing and self-quarantining in hopes of preventing further spread of COVID-19, many people in impacted areas and cities are spending most of their days indoors, however, getting some amount of fresh air and sunlight should still be on everyone’s agenda. But there is definitely a smart way to do this and a not-so-smart way to do this.
First of all, it’s incredibly important to maintain 6 feet of distance from every single other person who comes across your path. No exceptions. If you have trouble conceptualizing how much distance 6 feet is, break out your tape measurer at home and see for yourself. If you’re able, try to maintain double the distance — 12 feet.
Opt for Seclusion
Even when you venture outdoors, try to go to places where you think other people WON’T be. For instance, if you live near the beach, you might want to try to think a little more outside the box — many folks will opt to go to hotspots to spend their outdoor time, which is counterproductive to what we’re trying to do in limiting the spread of COVID-19.
Go Outdoors During Off Hours
Go extra early or save your outdoor time for later in the day. Again, you want to stay indoors during times of high traffic, so 9-5 is generally not going to be a good time.
Start Setting Boundaries
If you see someone failing to hold up their end of our civic duty, hold them accountable. Remind them that we’re all supposed to stay away from each other during this time. Try to express this sentiment as respectfully as you can to avoid offending anyone.

Staying Active at Home
At over 70 million Americans are required to shelter in place in the states with our biggest and most affected cities — states like California, New York, and Illinois — it’s important to develop a routine that serves you well in this trying time.
A part of a good and healthy routine is incorporating exercise into your daily activities. Below, Family Chiropractic and Natural Healing Center goes over a few ways to workout at home.
Kettlebells Are Your Friend
Kettlebells are compact and are great for working out your core. There are literally scores of workouts you can do with kettlebells, which you can look up on YouTube that will help you get the most out of your investment.
Invest in a yoga mat and, again, retreat to YouTube for some nasty ab workouts — you may even be able to show off a six-pack when this is all said and done.
What About Cardio?
Do jumping jacks or jump rope, if you have an area that permits at home. You can go out on an early morning run and still limit your exposure — as long as you do it around sunrise or before. You can also run in place at home.
Doing push-ups and body squats will help you break the monotony. Invest in a pull-up bar that you can hang over a doorway to boost your upper body workouts. Do tricep dips with your bed and a chair.
We hope some of this helps! Family Chiropractic and Natural Healing Center is here to provide treatments and information that help you get to the very best version of… You!
Social Distancing Tips for Coronavirus Defense
Terms like “Social Distancing” and “Self-Quarantine” are starting to get thrown around during this time of Coronavirus outbreak, which is why it’s important to understand what social distancing and self-quarantine mean, not to mention ways you can do your part to prevent the further spread of this infectious disease.
If your job permits, it’s a good idea to do what you can to work remotely for the next few weeks. Ideally, you’ll be able to work from home until the Coronavirus is contained here in the states, like it’s starting to be in places like Korea and, to a lesser extent, China.
Staying away from well-populated venues and areas of the city in which you live is also a good idea, as is adopting rigorous hand-washing practices, not to mention preventing yourself from shaking hands or touching your eyes, nose, or mouth after coming into contact with commonly used objects and surfaces.
Now is a great time to get back to basics. If you have a home project to keep you busy during your offtime, engage in that. You’ll be surprised by what you can accomplish, even during times of difficulty and uncertainty.
If you’re sick, you should get tested for Coronavirus, and remain home until you’re healthy and well again. If you’ve traveled overseas recently, it’s also a good idea to engage in a self-quarantine, to prevent the risk of spreading this unfortunate illness.

Taking a few minutes to ourselves each day to build our meditation practices or at the very least enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet in order to gather ourselves is crucial in keeping the mind healthy, and you’ll notice these techniques to be great stress reducers as well.

The truth is, there are illnesses out there that can certainly infiltrate our ranks — and anyone can be susceptible. But, the truth is, you can do a lot for your immune system just by making health choices each day.
For one, getting your fruits and veggies each day will go a long way in fortifying your body with vitamins and minerals that help keep you well and help fight off infection and inflammation.
Exercising sensibly also helps keep your body and its internal systems in good shape, which will help you stay healthy and well for the long haul. During sick season, make sure to steer clear of places where there’s likely to be a lot of people and germs — like stadiums, subways, etc. When you have to use these options, make sure to reduce your exposure when you can.
