Social Distancing Tips for Coronavirus Defense

Terms like “Social Distancing” and “Self-Quarantine” are starting to get thrown around during this time of Coronavirus outbreak, which is why it’s important to understand what social distancing and self-quarantine mean, not to mention ways you can do your part to prevent the further spread of this infectious disease.

If your job permits, it’s a good idea to do what you can to work remotely for the next few weeks. Ideally, you’ll be able to work from home until the Coronavirus is contained here in the states, like it’s starting to be in places like Korea and, to a lesser extent, China.

Staying away from well-populated venues and areas of the city in which you live is also a good idea, as is adopting rigorous hand-washing practices, not to mention preventing yourself from shaking hands or touching your eyes, nose, or mouth after coming into contact with commonly used objects and surfaces.

Now is a great time to get back to basics. If you have a home project to keep you busy during your offtime, engage in that. You’ll be surprised by what you can accomplish, even during times of difficulty and uncertainty.

If you’re sick, you should get tested for Coronavirus, and remain home until you’re healthy and well again. If you’ve traveled overseas recently, it’s also a good idea to engage in a self-quarantine, to prevent the risk of spreading this unfortunate illness.
