Creating Space Throughout Your Day for Wellness

When we get busy, generally, the first things we put on the backburner are our own wellness practices. Whether it’s that yoga class we can’t quite get to once the end of the workday comes or that meditation practice we’ve been slacking on because our mornings our so packed that we’re convinced we don’t have time.

However, the truth is we’re responsible for keeping our own health and wellness practices up to scratch, and nobody is going to do it for us.

Creating your own space to do those healthy things that keep you alive and well isn’t as hard as it might appear either.

Getting Up Earlier

For example, if you’re interested in building a meditation practice, that’s a good thing to do first thing in the morning, which will help you set the tone for your day. Take 10-20 minutes to let your mind settle, before any agenda gets put on you, whether it’s your own or someone else’s. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference such a simple thing makes.

Yoga On-the-Go

If you can’t commit to a yoga class or you miss a class on a certain day, there’s still a lot of opportunity to get your stretch in, whether it’s at your work desk or at home. Keep a yoga mat in the trunk space of your vehicle in case there’s a park on the way home from work — you’d be surprised how much good repair work you can get done in as little as 20 minutes.
